Narcotics Seizure

On November 12, 2024, detectives with the Vice and Narcotics Division and the Interdiction Unit were conducting an operation in the Birmingham area, when they stopped a black Honda Accord in the 4700 block of Court M for traffic violations.  The traffic stop resulted in an arrest.  Detectives also executed a search warrant of a residence, located in the 1300 block of 57th Street, Birmingham, AL.

Sheriff Mark Pettway stated, “The safety of the citizens of Jefferson County is my number one priority.  Our men and women work hard each and every day to connect with our citizens and bridge the gap between law enforcement and the community.  We greatly appreciate the partnerships we are establishing with the communities we serve.”

The suspect has been identified as: Diego Pesquera, age, 21.  The suspect has been charged with Possession of Child Pornography and 4 Counts of Drug Trafficking, with no bond.  The suspect is in the custody of the Jefferson County Jail.

Narcotics seized: 1,218 grams of Fentanyl, and 8000 grams of Methamphetamine – inside of vehicle, and 4 tubs of Methamphetamine, and 510 grams of Fentanyl – inside of residence

Vehicle seized:  2017 Honda

Money seized: $13,282
