One Arrested for Attempted Murder

Around 8:37 PM on Thursday, February 9th, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the 1700 block of Republic Road in Forestdale on reports of a person who had been shot.  Upon arrival, deputies located a 34-year-old male victim, who had been shot multiple times in the legs.  He was transported by EMS to UAB Hospital for treatment.  His injuries appeared to be non-life-threatening.

Multiple witnesses stated that there had been an altercation over a vehicle and shots were fired.  The suspect’s vehicle was spotted by responding deputies.  A 17-year-old male was taken into custody and charged with attempted murder.  His bond is set at $60,000.00.
