One Dead After Crash in McCalla

At approximately 04:56 AM on Sunday, March 12, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a single vehicle accident on Old Tuscaloosa Road at Lowetown Road in McCalla.  Upon arrival deputies discovered a 25-year-old male inside the wreckage who was deceased. An injured dog was also at the scene.  Animal control assisted with the care of the dog.

It appeared that the vehicle had left the roadway and overturned during a rainstorm.  The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
