At approximately 9:18 PM on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 500 block of Tupelo Way in Centerpoint on the report of a person shot. Deputies arrived on scene to find a 24-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to UAB Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
