Just before 2:00 AM this morning, Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 1400 block of Rayfield Drive in Midfield to investigate reports of a person shot. Upon arrival deputies found a 29-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Initial reports suggest that the victim was sitting on the porch when a drive by shooting occurred and he was struck by a bullet. Evidence collected at the scene indicates multiple shots were fired at the home.
