Pedestrian Killed on Highway 78

At approximately, 10:30 last night, Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a location on Highway 78 near Thed Brassfield Road in unincorporated Jefferson County on reports of a pedestrian who was jumping in and out of traffic.  It was immediately reported that the pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle.

Upon arrival, deputies found an adult male who had been struck by a vehicle and was deceased at the scene.  The Sheriff’s Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team was dispatched to the location and is conducting an investigation into the incident.  All parties involved remained on the scene.
