Just after1:00 pm this afternoon deputies were called to investigate a traffic accident in the 1600 block of 1st Street NW involving a car that struck a pedestrian.
They arrived to find an adult male victim suffering critical injuries. He was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
Information on the scene is that the victim was walking along the road and was struck by the car.
The investigation is ongoing. Updates will be provided as information becomes available. The name of the victim is withheld pending notification of family.
