Around 1:00 AM on Sunday, December 13, 2020, Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the intersection of Highway 78 and Snowville Brent Road where a person reported  they had just struck a pedestrian.
The caller told deputies that he had seen flashing lights on the right side of the road. He then slowed down and merged over to the left hand lane. Heavy fog in the area prevented the driver from seeing the pedestrian who was standing in the left hand lane.
