On January 1, 2025, at approximately 5:54 a.m., deputies from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office responded to 4340 Pinson Valley Parkway to investigate a report of a person shot. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a 39-year-old male victim, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Center Point Fire & Rescue responded to the scene and transported the victim to U.A.B. Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was asleep in his bed when he was struck by a bullet and that the shooting may have occurred as a result of celebratory gunfire.
