Pinson Couple Arrested for Trafficking Hydrocodone and Marijuana

A Pinson couple has been arrested and charged with Trafficking Hydrocodone and Marijuana.

On March 22, 2018 a deputy in Center Point conducted a traffic stop on a car driven by 28-year-old Phillip Michael Johnson of Pinson. During the stop the deputy discovered ecstasy tablets and marijuana. Narcotics investigators were called to the scene and a search warrant was obtained to search Johnson’s residence for more drugs.

Deputies went to the home in the 6900 block of Heather lane and executed the search warrant. During the search of the residence deputies discovered 3.3 pounds of marijuana, 4.6 grams of hydrocodone, 29 grams of ecstasy, crack cocaine, methamphetamine, and two handguns.

Johnson’s girlfriend, 30-year-old Jaquese Monchell Byner was present during the search. Both she and Johnson were arrested and taken to the Jefferson County Jail to await formal charges.

On March 23, narcotics investigators obtained arrest warrants formally charging Byner with Trafficking Hydrocodone, Trafficking Marijuana, and two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance. Bond was set at $202,000.

Warrants were also obtained formally charging Johnson with Trafficking Hydrocodone, Trafficking Marijuana, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 1st Degree, and three counts of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance. His bond was set at $205,500.
