The homeowner, who was not at home, called the Sheriff’s Office and reported that a neighbor had advised that a white male in a white truck was breaking into her residence.

Deputies arrived to find the truck still at the residence. The front door had been forced open. Deputies could hear someone moving around inside the residence. They yelled for anyone inside to come out.

Shortly afterward, the suspect opened a window on the front of the home and crawled out. When he saw deputies waiting he surrendered and was arrested.

The suspect told deputies that “he has a drug problem and needed some money.” He went on to say that he uses about $150 worth of heroin a day.

34-year-old Miguel Don Juan of Pinson was arrested and charged with Burglary 3rd Degree and Possession of Burglary tools. He was found to have several outstanding warrants for failing to appear on drug charges. He remains in the Jefferson County Jail with no bond.
