Pinson Woman Arrested After Early Morning Chase

Just after 2:30 am this morning a deputy attempted to stop a 2012 Chevrolet truck for running a stop sign at Clay-Palmerdale Road and Alabama Highway 75. The driver of the truck refused to stop and a chase ensued. The chase traveled north on the highway into Blount County and then into residential neighborhoods. It traveled back south Highway 75 to Miles Spring Road in Palmerdale where the truck struck a parked Sheriff’s Office patrol unit damaging the bumper. The chase continued south on Highway 75 to Tapawingo Road where the driver lost control and the truck wrecked.

The driver, 31-year-old Mandy Elizabeth Vineyard of Pinson, was taken into custody. She was found to have three outstanding felony warrants for probation violations on burglary charges. She was transported to the Jefferson County Jail in Birmingham where she is being held on charges of Probation Violation Burglary 3rd, Resisting Arrest, Attempting to Elude and Reckless Endangerment. She has no bond.

The adult male passenger from the truck suffered minor injuries in the wreck and was transported to an area hospital. There were no other injuries during the chase.
