School Staff Member Killed in Tragic Accident

At approximately 6:36 AM this morning, Jefferson County Deputies from the School Resources division were notified of an accident involving a staff member at Mortimer Jordan High School. Kimberly Police Department and Kimberly Fire Department also responded and attempted life-saving measures at the scene.   According to early investigative reports, the employee was performing standard checks of the bus before beginning the morning route.  The unoccupied bus began to roll and struck the employee.  The 58-year-old male victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Traffic Reconstruction Team (START) is conducting the investigation into the circumstances surrounding this accident.  Confirmation on the victim’s identity will be made by the Jefferson County Medical Examiner’s Office.
