Sheriff’s Deputies Arrest 4 for Drug Trafficking

On Wednesday July 10, 2019 Sheriff’s Deputies arrested four men for drug trafficking.  In response to citizen complaints the Sheriff’s Narcotics unit conducted and investigation into suspicious activity in the 1400 block of 24th Street North Birmingham. Investigators obtained a search warrant and executed it on a residence at that location.  Based on the evidence recovered at this location investigators arrested 26 year old Daniel Lee Jelks Jr., 23 year old Demarieo Jermaine McGee, 20 year old Rodrakius Grays and 21 year old Markell Jewaun Felder for drug trafficking and other offenses.

Jelks is charged with Trafficking Illegal Drugs bond $60,000.00, 2 Counts of Unlawful Distribution of Controlled Substance no bond allowed, Distributing Methamphetamine bond $20,000.00, Attempting to Traffic Cocaine bond $60,000.00, Possession of Marijuana 2nd bond $2000.00 and Robbery 1st bond $300.00.

McGee is charged with Drug Trafficking bond $60,000.00, Distribution of Methamphetamine bond $20,000.00, Attempting to Traffic Cocaine bond $60,000.00, Possession of Marijuana 2nd bond $2000.00 and Obstructing Justice Using a false Identity no bond allowed.

Grays is charged with Drug Trafficking bond $60,000.00, Attempting to Traffic Cocaine bond $60,000.00, Distribution of Methamphetamines bond $20,000.00, Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree bond $2000.00 and Robbery 1st no bond allowed.

Felder is charged with Drug Trafficking bond $60,000.00, Attempting to Traffic Cocaine bond $60,000.00, Distribution of Methamphetamine bond $20,000.00 and Possession of Marijuana 2nd bond $2000.00.
