Sheriff’s Detectives Investigate Shooting in Adamsville

On Tuesday September 24, 2019 at 11:36pm Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 2800 block of Woodruff Mill road on a report of an accidental shooting.  Deputies arrived and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his stomach.  The victim was transported to the hospital to be treated.  Sheriff’s detectives arrived and began the investigation into this shooting.  Witnesses reported that the shooter heard a noise outside and armed himself with a pistol and went outside to see what was going on.  When the shooter came back into the house he mistook his roommate for a threat and fired a shot striking him.  Witnesses at the home reported that the shooting was accidental.  Sheriff’s detectives will interview the victim when he is stable.
