Sheriff’s Office Investigating Bank Robbery

Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating a bank robbery that occurred in Graysville this morning.

At about 10:30 this morning deputies were called to the Regions Bank Branch in Graysville to investigate a bank robbery that had just occurred.

It was reported that a man had entered the bank and demanded money from a teller. No weapon was seen. Once the teller gave him the money, he left the bank and fled in a gold Lexus sedan driven by a second man. No one was injured during the robbery.

The robbery suspect was described as a white male, 5’10”, wearing a blue hat and blue sweatshirt. His face was covered with a blue bandana. The driver of the car was described as a black male with no further description available.

Just after 11:30 the robbery suspect was located by the FBI at a residence in the 100 block of Mimosa Court in Mulga and taken into custody. The suspect is being questioned by detectives. He will then be taken to the Jefferson County Jail to await formal charges. His name is withheld pending formal charges.

The driver and car used to leave the scene of the robbery have not yet been located.
