Just before 2:30 pm this afternoon deputies were called to investigate a traffic accident on Rock Mountain Lake Road at Redman Lane.
Deputies arrived to find a single SUV had left the road and struck a tree. The driver was the lone occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced dead on the scene.
It appears the driver of the SUV lost control attempting to pass another car, left the road and struck a tree.
The name of the adult driver is being withheld pending notification of family.
