A traffic accident in western Jefferson County has claimed the life of one person and left another hospitalized.
Just after 11:00 pm this morning deputies responded to a report of a traffic accident in the 200 block of Eastern Valley Road near Elrie Blvd. They arrived to find the adult driver of one of the vehicles deceased on the scene. An adult occupant of the other vehicle has been transported to an area hospital.
Information from the scene is that the vehicle driven by the deceased crossed the center line and struck the other car head on.
The Sheriff’s Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team is on the way to conduct an investigation into the cause of the accident. The investigation is ongoing.
