Sheriff’s Office Investigating Robbery in Forestdale

Just before 9:00 pm last night deputies responded to a report of a robbery on the parking lot of the Taco Bell in the 1100 block of Forestdale Blvd.

The adult male victim reported that he had been sitting in his white Chevrolet Trailblazer in the parking lot. An adult male suspect approached him and pointed a gun at him demanding his car. The suspect struck the victim in the head with the gun. The victim got out of the car. The suspect took the victim’s car and drove off traveling west on Forestdale Blvd.

A description of the vehicle was broadcast to deputies, and surrounding agencies. A short time later an Adamsville Police officer spotted the vehicle on Highway 78 near Main Street in Graysville. Upon seeing the officer the suspect sped off. The suspect turned off of Highway 78 onto Glasgow Hollow Road, lost control of the vehicle and wrecked. The suspect was ejected from the vehicle and suffered life threatening injuries. A passenger in the stolen car suffered minor injuries.

The suspect, a 31 year old Graysville man, was transported to the hospital where he remains in critical condition.
The adult male passenger was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released. The investigation is ongoing.

The name of the suspect is being withheld pending formal charges of Robbery 1st Degree and Attempting to Elude.
