Sheriff’s Office Searching for Missing 12-Year-Old

Sheriff’s Detectives are requesting assistance from the public in locating 12-year-old Ariell Janise Matthews of Oak Grove.

On September 3, 2017, the mother of the child came to the Sheriff’s Office to report that her daughter had run away from home. She had argued with her daughter about communicating with adult men on social media and had taken away her electronic devices as punishment.

Ariell Matthews walked out of the house and has not contacted her parents since that time.

She is described as a twelve-year-old girl, 5’6” tall and weighing 256 pounds. She was last seen wearing a gray tee shirt and red, black, and white pajama pants.

Anyone with information on her location is asked to call the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office at 205-325-1450.
