Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a shooting call in the McDonald’s Chapel community.

Just before 8:30 this evening deputies responded to a report of a shooting in the 5500 block of Mexico Avenue.

Information from the scene is that an adult male and female were sitting on the front porch when three suspects they know pulled up in a white Chevrolet Impala. One person got out of the car and began shooting at them. The suspect got back in the car and fled the scene. Both victims were taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The motive is unknown.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office at 205-325-1450 or Crime Stoppers at 305-254-7777.
