Just after 7:00 am this morning deputies were called to a residence in the 6200 block of Mountain Forest Drive in McCalla to investigate a report of a shooting.
They arrived to find a 61-year-old male victim suffering from a single gunshot wound. He was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The victim reported that he was driving between Hueytown and his residence when an unknown suspect fired a shot through the vehicle window. He continued driving to the residence and called his brother for help. The brother called 911.
The victim was unable to tell deputies the exact location where the shooting occurred.
