On Wednesday June 9, 2021 at approximately 10:38pm Jefferson County deputies were dispatched to a home in the 1300 block of Charles Avenue Bessemer to investigate a report of a shooting. Deputies arrived on the scene and found a 52-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound. The woman was treated on the scene by paramedics and then transported to the hospital. Evidence technicians processed the scene and family members are being interviewed. The victim’s condition is considered serious. This offense is still under investigation.
