Shots Fired at Jefferson County Deputies

On Tuesday January 21, 2020 at approximately 1:16pm Jefferson County Deputies attempted to stop a vehicle for a violation.  The driver refused to stop and fled from deputies in a reckless manner until he wrecked his vehicle into a tree near 91st Street North and 90th Place North.  The driver and passenger exited their vehicle and shots were fired at the deputies shattering the drivers side front glass of the patrol vehicle.  The deputy in that vehicle was not hit.  The deputies returned fire and both offenders were struck.  The offenders were transported to a local hospital for treatment.  Their condition is unknown at this time.  There was no injury to any of the deputies involved.  This Deputy involved shooting is being investigated by ALEA.
