Shots Fired in Parking Lot of High School After Basketball Game

Around 9:30 PM tonight, a Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputy working at a Hueytown High School basketball game advised that shots had been fired outside of that location.  According to witnesses, a group of juveniles were involved in an altercation in the parking lot of the school when adult family members arrived on scene and intervened.  One of the family members fired shots in the air and fled the scene with some of the involved juveniles.

Jefferson County deputies, along with officers with officers from Hueytown Police Department responded to the scene and dispersed the patrons.  The investigation is continuing.  No one is in custody at this time.
