On February 28th, deputies with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and agents from the U.S. Marshals Taskforce received information on the location of Leon Walker, Jr. Walker is the suspect in the December 11, 2023 shooting deaths of 19-year-old Louis Craig IV and 13-year-old Jonathan Cottingham.
Deputies and agents went to a residence on Lakewood Drive in the Forestdale area and were able to locate Walker. He was taken into custody and placed in the Jefferson County Jail in Birmingham. He is being held on multiple charges including capital murder. He currently has no bond on this charge.
