Teen Arrested for Burglary near Vestavia

Birmingham, AL 08/30/2016

Just after 3:00 pm yesterday deputies responded to a report of a burglary in progress at Kreekview Apartments in an unincorporated area of Jefferson County near Vestavia. It was reported that three men had broken into an apartment and were loading stolen property into a black pickup truck.

While deputies were on the way Vestavia Hills Police arrived and reported that the suspects had fled on foot. A perimeter was established and tracking dogs were dispatched to the scene. One suspect was taken into custody during the search. The other two were not located.

The suspect was identified as a 17 year old male from Alabaster. His name is being withheld due to his age.

The stolen property which included three televisions, two laptop computers and a cell phone was returned to the victim.
