On Sunday, July 14, 2024, shortly after 7:00 p.m., Jefferson County deputies responded to the 2400 block of 5th Street NW to investigate a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, deputies discovered two 24-year-old male victims suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Deputies also discovered a 17-year-old female victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound as well. All three victims were together inside of a vehicle when the incident occurred.
Center Point Fire & Rescue responded to the scene and transported the victims to UAB Hospital for treatment. The victims’ injuries were reported to be non-life threatening.
