Traffic Fatality in Mt. Olive Community

On Monday November 4, 2019 at 7:53pm Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a traffic accident on Brookside Road near Woodward Road in the Mount Olive community.  Deputies arrived and found that a car appeared to have been traveling south when it left the roadway, crashed into a tree and caught on fire.  Witnesses reported that they heard the crash and came to the scene but were unable to get the car door open.  The fire was extinguished by the Mount Olive Fire department.  First responders found one occupant in the drivers seat who did not survive.  The body was released to the Jefferson County Coroners Office.  There is no identification of the driver at this time.
