Two Juveniles Injured by Gunfire in Centerpoint

At approximately 8:00 PM on Thursday, February 11, 2021, Jefferson County deputies responded to calls of a person shot near the intersection of 6th Street NW and 15th Court NW in Centerpoint.  Deputies arrived on scene to find a 16 year old juvenile suffering from a gunshot wound.  He was transported to UAB hospital for treatment.  His condition is unknown at this time.

Shortly after their arrival at the 6th Street NW location, deputies were notified that another juvenile had arrived at St. Vincent’s East hospital with a gunshot wound.  It is thought that the shooting occurred in the Northwest area of Centerpoint as well.  This victim’s condition is also currently unknown.

Detectives are currently investigating the shootings.  It is unknown if the shootings are related at this time.
