UPDATE: Shootings in Centerpoint Resulted from One Incident

At approximately 8:00 PM on February 11, 2021, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the intersections of 6th Street NW and 15th Court NW, in response to a call that a 16 year old juvenile had been shot.  Shortly after their arrival at the scene, Deputies were informed that a second juvenile was being treated at St. Vincent’s East for a gunshot wound.  The second juvenile was  discovered to be 15 years old.  It was reported that the shooting had also occurred on the Northwest side of Centerpoint.  It was initially unknown if the shootings were related

After further investigation, it was discovered that the two shootings occurred at the same location.  According to reports, a male was seen in the area leaning into a vehicle at the originally reported location.  Multiple shots were heard by witnesses.  The injuries to the subjects are not thought to be life threatening.  The details of the shooting are still under investigation.
