UPDATE: Victim of Automobile Accident Found to Be Suffering from Gunshot Wounds

Shortly before noon on Thursday, June 23, 2022, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office was called to the 1700 block of Carson Road to investigate an automobile accident where two occupants were transported to local hospitals and one was pronounced dead at the scene.  The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office retrieved the body of the 33-year-old victim from the wreckage.  Upon retrieval, it was found that the victim was suffering from gunshot wounds.  The other adult in the vehicle is in critical condition and unable to speak with detectives regarding the circumstances surrounding the incident at this time.  The other victim is a child under 10-years-old, whose condition is not being released.
