A 30-year-old Birmingham woman has been arrested and charged with Capital Murder for the January 13, 2018 shooting death of 21-year-old Laronald McDaniel.

At about 3:30 pm on January 18, deputies responded to a report of a shooting in front of a residence in the 800 block of Gary Avenue. They arrived to find an adult male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to an area hospital. He was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival.
Information at the scene was that the victim and an adult female were sitting in a car in front of the house when a black male suspect walked up and fired shots into the vehicle. The suspect fled the scene on foot.
Detectives determined that 30-year-old Ebonee Sade Russell Malone was involved in carrying out the murder. On February 5, they obtained an arrest warrant charging her with Capital Murder. She was arrested this morning and taken to the Jefferson County Jail where she is held with no bond.
The investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are expected.
