Victim in North Jefferson County Homicide Identified

The victim of a weekend homicide in northern Jefferson County has been identified as 48-year-old Robin Rae Caudill.

Just after 5:00 am yesterday morning deputies were called to a home in the 4000 block of Ruff Road to conduct a death investigation. A man reported that he had found his wife unresponsive on the floor of the bathroom.

Deputies arrived to find the victim dead on the floor.  The husband of the victim remained on scene and was found to have blood on his clothing. He was questioned by detectives but offered no explanation for the injuries to the victim or the blood found throughout the home.

Information at the scene indicated that the victim had been beaten to death.

The husband was taken into custody and transported to the Jefferson County Jail to await formal charges. His name is withheld pending those charges.
