Detectives with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office have obtained a warrant against 50-year-old Cortrell Montesez Burks for the murder of 40-year-old Erica Williams. Williams was found deceased in her 20th Avenue NE apartment yesterday. Detectives had named Burks as a person of interest, but have obtained enough information to seek warrants from the District Attorney’s Office against him. The District Attorney’s Office confirmed the warrants today for the charge of murder. He has no bond on this charge.
