Warrior Man Charged with Attempted Murder

Just after 9:30 pm on Saturday, October 15, deputies were called to a home in the 2600 block of Blake Way near Corner to investigate a report of a shooting.

Deputies arrived to find an adult male lying in the driveway suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Information at the scene is that Floyd Daniel Alexander had driven into the driveway of his ex-girlfriend’s home as she sat outside with her new boyfriend. He got out of his car with a gun demanding to know who the other man was. He fired a shot. The shot did not strike anyone. The new boyfriend fired back and struck the Alexander in the abdomen.

Sheriff’s Detectives investigating learned there had been a history of threats made by Alexander to harm his ex-girlfriend.

On October 17, Sheriff’s Detectives obtained an arrest warrant charging 50-year-old Floyd Daniel Alexander of Warrior with Attempted Murder. Upon his release from the hospital, he was transferred to the Jefferson County Jail where he remains with bond set at $100,000. Detectives are also pursuing a stalking charge related to evidence revealed in this case.
