Shooting Investigation in Pinson Alabama

On Sunday, October 19, 2025, at approximately 12:24 a.m., deputies from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 7900 block of Highway 75 North in Pinson, Alabama, to investigate a report of multiple people shot.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered three victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds: a 21-year-old male, an 18-year-old male, and an 18-year-old female. Palmerdale Fire & Rescue, Center Point Fire & Rescue, and Trussville Fire & Rescue responded to the scene and transported the victims to area hospitals. Deputies also learned that a fourth victim, a 20-year-old female, had been transported to a local hospital by a personal vehicle.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a verbal and physical altercation escalated, resulting in gunfire.

A male suspect, identified as Steven Tyler Whitehead, age 27, has been taken into custody. He has been charged with Murder and is currently being held at the Jefferson County Jail without bond. Additional charges are pending.
