Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Investigates Shooting in Center Point ***Update***

On Friday, March 20, 2026, at approximately 5:38 p.m., deputies with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 10 block of Polly Reed Road NE, Center Point AL to investigate a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, deputies discovered an 18-year-old male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Center Point Fire & Rescue responded to the scene and transported the victim to UAB Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office report that arrests have been made in the case.  Four suspects have been charged with Discharging a Firearm into an Occupied Dwelling and Attempted Murder.

The suspects are identified as:

Carlos Moore, age, 16 (released from the Jefferson County Jail)
Zaviar Miller, age, 16 (released from the Jefferson County Jail)
Arry Gardner, age, 18 (released from the Jefferson County Jail)
Skyler Burch, age, 17 (released from the Jefferson County Jail)
Bond: $90,000 each.
