Sheriff’s detectives are conducting a death investigation after a 52-year-old inmate was found unresponsive in his cell.
During routine cell checks just after 3:30 this morning, deputies discovered 52-year-old Timothy Bibb unresponsive. Jail medical staff and paramedics responded. Bibb was pronounced dead at 4:04 am. He had been alone in the cell and there were no signs of injury or trauma.
Timothy Bibb of Birmingham was sentenced to prison yesterday morning in Bessemer Circuit Court. He was booked into the Jefferson County jail at noon.
No foul play is suspected and cause of death is pending the medical examiner’s report.
