The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal traffic accident that occurred this afternoon.
Just after 2:30 this afternoon deputies were called to the 7200 block of Old Tuscaloosa Highway to investigate a traffic accident. They arrived to find two vehicles had collided. The drivers of both cars died on the scene. An adult female in one car was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Two children from the other car were also taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Early information is that a white Camaro was traveling West on Old Tuscaloosa Highway when it was struck from behind by a blue Camry.
The investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing. The names of the deceased are withheld pending notification of family.
