On Monday, January 30, 2023, shortly after noon, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the 100 block of 14th Avenue NE on reports of a body located in a vacant apartment. Apparently, a maintenance worker entered the apartment and discovered a body, of what is thought to be an adult male. According to reports, the remains appear to have been at this location for quite some time. It is currently undetermined if there is criminal activity associated with this death. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office is working to confirm the identity of the victim as well as determine the cause of death.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Criminal Division will continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this discovery.
