On April 7, 2024, at approximately 4:04 AM, deputies responded to the 5600 block of Timber Leaf Road, Bessemer, AL. to investigate a report of an unresponsive person. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a female victim lying unresponsive in a room. McAdory Fire and Rescue responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.
The victim has been identified as:
Lanetta Palacios, 32, of Bessemer, AL.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Lanetta Palacios was a victim of domestic violence. The victim and the suspect were husband and wife.
The suspect has been identified as:
Peter Palacios, 36, of Bessemer, AL. The suspect is in the custody of the Jefferson County Jail and is being held without bond.
