On August 18, 2010, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office investigated the burglary and sexual assault of a 77-year-old woman. In 2010, there were no suspects or leads, and the case went cold. Evidence that was collected at that time proved to be crucial to finding the suspect some 14 years later. Detectives followed up on available evidence and were able to identify the suspect. They believed that this case was particularly heinous and deserved a second look.
The suspect was located and arrested by the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force Group in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was booked into the Jefferson County Jail on August 1, 2024.

The suspect has been identified as: Julian Delance Poole, age, 34. The suspect was recently indicted on Burglary 1st Degree; Rape 1st Degree; and Sodomy 1st Degree charges; all with no bond. The suspect is in the custody of the Jefferson County Jail.
