Commander Philip Green is a 1992 graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He began his career at the Sheriff’s Office in 1988 serving as a Jail Deputy, Patrol Deputy, Evidence Technician, Jail Sergeant, Detective Sergeant, Property Crimes Lieutenant, Narcotics Lieutenant, Jail Captain, Patrol Division Captain, Criminal Division Captain and he currently serves as the Technology Division Commander. Commander Green also oversees the Metro Area Crime Center.

Commander Philip Green is a 1992 cum laude graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He began his career at the Sheriff’s Office in 1988 serving as a Jail Deputy, Patrol Deputy, Evidence Technician, Jail Sergeant, Detective Sergeant, Property Crimes Lieutenant, Narcotics Lieutenant, Jail Captain, Patrol Division Captain and Criminal Division Captain. He currently commands the Technology Division which oversees the evaluation, acquisition and deployment of technology assets to every division of the Sheriff’s Office. Commander Green leads the Metro Area Crime Center which is a technology-focused, multiagency intelligence and investigation center that collects, analyzes, evaluates and shares intelligence data pertaining to criminal activity throughout the region. Commander Green serves on the Board of Commissioners for the Jefferson County Emergency Communications District. 

Commander Green currently serves in the United States Army Reserve with nearly two decades of combined service in the Active Army, Alabama National Guard and Army Reserve.
