A 23-year-old Birmingham man has been arrested and charged with attempted murder for a shooting that occurred earlier this month in northern Jefferson County.
Just after 4:30 am on June 19, deputies responded to a report of a shooting at a home in the 8500 block of Brasher Road in northern Jefferson County. They arrived to find a man suffering from a gunshot wound.
Sheriff’s detectives learned that the suspect had been outside the home working on a truck in a yard. The victim came out and asked him to leave. The pair argued and the suspect pulled a gun. The victim ran inside and shut the door. The suspect fired a shot through the door which struck the victim.
The victim was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to recover.

Alexander James Price
On June 26, 2017, detectives obtained arrest warrants charging 23-year-old Alexander James Price of Birmingham with Attempted Murder and Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling.
On June 29, Price was located and arrested. He remains in the Jefferson County Jail with bonds set at $75,000.
